Best Candidates
Oral health examinations should be performed at least once a year with the first exam done at about 18 months old. MINT dentistry performs comprehensive oral exams for patients of all ages and we can help address dental conditions of varying stages using proven techniques and advanced technology. We focus on providing a good experience for children so it's easier to keep them coming back for a lifetime of good oral hygiene. Our team also likes to help our adult patients who may have had a negative experience at another dental office. We aim to help them feel relaxed and safe during their time at MINT dentistry.
What to Expect
You will be given a pair of our swanky MINT sunglasses to wear throughout your oral health exam as you relax in one of our luxurious treatment chairs. Your examination will start with an overall evaluation of your mouth and teeth while you catch up on your favorite shows beneath our flat-screen televisions or listen to music through Beats headphones. Then, we will take digital x-rays of your mouth and screen for abnormal tissue. You can expect an evaluation of your neck and head, including your jaw, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and bite. A MINT dental professional will discuss your exam results and, if any problems are found, your options for treatment will be explained. We will discuss any health problems you have, including any medications you may be taking and how they might impact your oral health. Lastly, we will evaluate dental restorations, like dentures or a bridge, to check the fit and wear.
Treatment Aftercare
If our team does not identify any dental issues, you should follow a good home care routine of flossing and brushing at least two times every day. You also need to make appointments for bi-annual dental exams and cleanings at our office. Typically, patients will only need a dental exam two times every year, but we might recommend exams more frequently if you have serious oral health conditions. If we do see something that needs to be addressed, your options for treatment will be explained and planned. For example, if a cavity is found, you will need to make an appointment to have it treated with a tooth-colored filling.
